The Latinas Equal Pay Day Commemoration Project which launched last year spurred from a mission in honor of Latinas Equal Pay Day which falls on November 1st this year. The date November 1st marks the unfairness of the pay gap and how far into 2018 it takes a woman with Hispanic or Latino heritage to make what a white, non-Hispanic male made in 2017.
The Latinas Equal Pay Day Commemoration Project promotes leadership advice from Latinas to inspire other women in hopes of closing the pay gap. So, this year we asked companies and organizations to partner with the project by nominating a Latina leader at their organization. Lean In Women of Color, along with numerous Lean In chapters are working together to raise awareness and support for bridging the pay gap that currently exists for Latinas.
To change the narrative on inequalities impacting Latinas, on November 1st, we are launching the 2018 Latinas Equal Pay Day Commemoration Project.
